Think I Died?

Nope I didn't! Just been VERY busy! Today marks Day 42--959 days to go!

So As Far as my list goes...I will look down it and fill you in on what I've done and what my plans are. I have fallen off track some but not as much as I expected!

2. Learn 40 new recipes..
I have learned 2 new recipes--both dinner. I have learned a special meat ball recipe and a chicken recipe that is kind of an Asian stir fry thing!

3. Finish my first quilt.
This is probably the one I'm most disappointed about! I have barely gotten anywhere on it. I will get it done though!

5. Read 26 new books each starting with a different letter of the Alphabet.
Well I have started reading the Twilight series but I will only count the first book. So I have "T" taken care of. Twilight.

7. Send and receive 20 postcards through postcrossing.com
I have received 3 post cards. One from Russia, one from Germany, and one from China! I have had four of my sent post cards reach their destinations. Two made it to Germany, one to Malaysia, and one to Finland.

24. Clean the poo out of the dog kennel every other day for two months!
**** I cleaned all the winter poop out of the kennel today and bleached and cleaned the whole thing. It took about 3 hours and was the most disgusting thing ever. I would rather clean 1 million horse stalls than do that again! Starting today I am going to clean that thing every other day for two months--and hopefully forever.

49. Take out my contacts every night for a month--going to try this one!!

61. Maintain regular chiropractic care for 1 year--Still doing THIS!

64. Leave 100 Operation Beautiful Notes--I have left 6 notes so far!! :)

67. Get new floors in my living room--I am going to the flooring place tomorrow hopefully and I think by the end of April I will no longer have this brown carpet!

I am going to work on some more soon!!!!!!! :-D

17 Days Down, 984 to Go!

Well not much has been going on. The post card I showed you a picture of reached its destination in Germany! That is 3 sent and received but none received by me yet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Here is the picture of two more cards that I am sending today:

From 101-In-1001

The first one is going to Taiwan and the second is going to the Netherlands I believe! Hitting the mailbox today!

*******
My change jar is being set back a little because I am taking some change out to donate to the Partner With Youth Campaign at work--the kids I work with are having a "Penny War" so I'm going to help them out.

*******
Made another new dinner recipe--some sweet Swedish Meatballs and they turned out really good! I made them for Matt last night and he liked them but I forgot to take a picture :(
*******
Quilt, Journal, and Number 93 are coming along with the Quilt being the slowest mainly because I have so little free time this month. Perhaps that will change soon. I'm also doing really good about taking my vitamin every day so I'm pretty proud of that!

Ten Days Down- 991 to go!

I am still doing good on reaching the goals I set for myself..Last night I made a chicken and vegetable stir fry recipe I got from SparkRecipes.com! It was a pretty simple recipe but if you know me--you know that simple cooking is sometimes hard cooking for me! It turned out great and I will probably make it again in the near future..here it is!

From 101-In-1001

Another one of my post cards made it to it's final destination! I sent a card to Finland--it traveled for 11 days and a total of 4,619 miles. That is two sent and received by others but none received by me yet! I will be sending another one soon :)

I have posted 3 more Operation Beautiful notes but wasn't able to get pictures because I didn't have my phone on me. 1 on a treadmill at the gym, one in the locker room, and one in a restroom stall. They are all on sticky notes and pretty simple. As long as someone gets a smile out of one of them I'll be happy. That is 4 down, 96 to go.

Doing good with journal and goal 93. I also have been taking my vitamin every day!

The quilt is probably the slowest moving goal. I just have not had ANY down time lately. My change jar is at $58.93!

6 Down, 995 to go!

Well my first post card through postcrossing.com has reached its destination!

It traveled for 6 days--4,629 miles--to Berlin, Germany. I still have 4 traveling to Russia, Malaysia, Finland, and Brazil. Travel times might not be EXACTLY accurate since they require someone to get on and put in the registration code--and also include the time it took me to write them and get them sent but still that is neat. This now means I am eligible to RECEIVE my first one.

I already signed up to send another, and the computer selected another spot in Germany. This is the postcard going out in my mailbox today..

Can't wait to hear that another card made it!

***********

I haven't posted any more Operation Beautiful notes yet. I hope to do that soon!

***********
Have to start vitamin one over again starting today because I missed yesterday. I think I'm going to make myself a calendar for my fridge so I remember to take it!

***********
Still working on that quilt!!

***********
Went to my chiropractor yesterday and that always feels great. I love chiropractic care--I think it is sad that insurance doesn't always cover it but I find it to be something well worth paying for as it makes my body feel great and I always feel healthier when under regular chiropractic care!
***********
My change jar is almost 1/3 full! The current amount reads...$58.42.

**********
Still doing diary and item number 93! One day I will scan a page of my SimpeDiary in for proof that I am doing it and so you can see what it looks like :)

Ciao!

Day 1

Well Day 1 went pretty well!

Looking at my list it was important to pick places to start and to not decide to start everything at once. Some things require a specific start date/time..such as the ones where I am doing habits for one to six months. Others really won't be mentioned until they are completed!

The numbers I have started are:

3. Finish my first quilt.
7. Send and Receive 20 postcards through postexchange.com (this one will take a while to complete)
61. Maintain regular chiropractic care for 1 year.
63. Complete a "Simple Diary"
64. Leave 100 “Operation Beautiful Notes” in random places
65. Take a multivitamin every day for 6 months!
93. The secret one--One year from today I will share it with ya!
96. Filling my change jar.
101. Blogging my progress.

I feel like that is a good start.

My first quilt is currently only a few cut up squares and a few sewn together squares so I need to make some progress there.

I have sent 5 post cards to addresses on postexchange. Now I am just waiting for them to get to the recipients and be registered so I can track them and receive some!

Went to the chiropractor today and I have to say I love how it makes me feel!

Bought the book Keel's Simple Diary and filled out day one. I think I'm really going to like this goal!

Left an "Operation Beautiful" note in locker 99 in the women's locker room at the YMCA today! (1)

Took my multivitamin today. Now I must remember to take it every day until August 1st! YIKES!

As soon as I figure out how I will post the pictures from my phone of my quilt progress and of my Operation Beautiful note!

The Challenge:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on your part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple challenges such as New Year's resolutions or a 'Bucket List'. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips, study semesters, or outdoor activities.

Number 93 is one that I don't want everyone to know because it involves surprising someone and reading about it here would ruin the surprise!
